It's strange... really strange, to see the main characters of his stories do little stupid things, they get me in a way. I guess in the side of knowing that stupidity is just meant to be part of who I am, as most people are, doing little weird things without thinking much of them.

Adrian Tomine chooses to take his stories to the next level, instead of taking those glimpses of incomplete revealing to sadness & loneliness... he introduced 4 long stories, like a week or more of a person's life, to share his/her point of view. A ride of awkwardness & sadness. He shakes them with a black cloud to give us a gap of messed up lives.
Part 5
One of best for sure. A story about a writer with his big heat of success, to quickly discover that he can't write from his imagination, so he relies entirely on his own life. A pressure hovering like a tornado for another heat .. to walk through a path of desperation, to catch a glimpses of a past he wrote about it briefly before. To even destroy everything around him, to just build those shadows of some lost glory... to finally have it, have it all, from start to finish.
"At that moment... he knew he could write the entire book straight through without stopping, but he decided to wait. He needed to be sure he had the ending right."

Part 6
A bad part of a girl's life, taking the points of view by others and the fact that we get effected by them in more ways than we like to admit. Leading to see her push everyone around, barely making any connection with people, and the painful fact is when you understand how people look at you. So I realized something lately... that I really like to know if I'm doing something wrong, acting strange, whatever, from people I know, people close to me, instead of bumping to the wall of the incapability of understanding why others always treated me in a certain way.
This is such a complex story, in terms of how lonely & odd you'll feel about yourself when you can't offer something to others. The fact that it's a meaningless connection, no matter what.
Now, I felt this is like an extension of Tomine's previous short stories... The Black Cloud.

Part 7
With this one, Tomine chooses a different style for his story.. very alive with multiple characters. And slowly started to break his characters thinking towards other people around them, but what I really liked is the main character, also including him with a therapist. It certainly carried the the story to send messages & points through him.
"Some days you wake up and you can't get out of bed... other days you just... feel okay. You never know what's going to cheer you up."
